Mission Statement: Motor City B’s Pizza, LLC aims at delivering authentic Detroit style pizza to bring you back to the Detroit roots you never knew you had. Each pizza is created with passion, love, and dedication to make you come back for more.
The love of Detroit has always been a major part of my life. Both of my parents were born and raised in Michigan. After the sudden loss of a family member in the Detroit area, it became crystal clear of just how quickly life could be stripped away and how I need to follow my passion right now. I always dreamed of one day running a business with my family. Family has always been an essential part of my life; after witnessing the loss of my cousin it really made me want to bring joy to their lives. It was right then and there that I decided to risk it all and open up my own Detroit style pizza food trailer with family being at the core of it. My recipe for success will utilize my business background, passion for family and food and the true grit Detroit attitude that I was raised on.
Food has always been a passion for my family; my father is notorious for cooking for an army so he could share with everyone including our entire neighborhood! I’ve always been a firm believer in chasing your dreams. Within one month, I applied for an LLC, was mentored by a local small business consultant, and came up with an entire menu (including my secret dough and sauce recipe). Each menu item is based off a family member’s favorite type of pizza. The Broken Oak in memory of my cousin, The Lou for my mother, Motor City Stang for my father and Aunty J for my Aunt are just a couple of the pizzas that will be offered. In addition, I’ve created a business plan and worked with another woman who owns a small business to create my website and logo; all while working 60 hour weeks at my current job. Passion, drive and hard work have made me who I am and will be the driving force of my success with Motor City B’s Pizza.
There will be numerous curveballs that are thrown my way; thankfully I’ve played sports my entire life so I know how to hit what’s pitched to me. However, it’s become blatantly clear to me that life should never be taken for granted; you have to follow your dreams and enjoy the time you have. I’m thankful to have a family that has supported all my dreams, and they will be right by my side for the grand opening of my business in May 2022. I have a community of people that are in my corner and I will do everything I can to make them proud.
